Sanna is a biochemical engineer turned communications strategist, passionate about improving access to scientific innovation and education in marginalized communities.

Before co-founding Assembly Advisory, she worked as an advisor on Brunswick Group's foundation and nonprofit team, and the healthcare and life sciences team. Sanna managed C-suite communications and advocacy campaigns for international clients, and developed and executed high-profile events to raise the visibility of issues including gender equality and development finance.

Prior to consulting, Sanna worked at Investor AB, Sweden's premier institutional investor, in roles spanning public affairs, media relations, investor relations, and sustainability. At Investor, she also developed and managed the company's flagship partnerships to support women and girls in tech, including an initiative to drive stronger uptake of STEM programs among women and girls in Sweden.

Sanna started her career in biochemical research focused on early HIV drug discovery and enzymology. She completed her M.Sc. in Medical Biochemistry at the Department of Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry at Uppsala University. The program also included a stint at the University of California, San Francisco, where she worked in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics researching the engineering design principles behind cellular morphogenesis.
