Before co-founding Assembly Advisory, Laura led communications for the Gender Equality Division at the Gates Foundation, where she shaped the foundation’s voice on critical issues. Prior to that, Laura was a founding member of the team at Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage. In both these roles, she worked in solidarity with NGOs, advocates, and civil society in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the US to implement creative campaigns and advocacy strategies that mobilize funding, spur policy change, and drive action on gender equality.
Laura specializes in working with high-profile figures to use their voice for impact across international affairs, development, and gender equality. She led Melinda French Gates’ communications strategy at the Gates Foundation, advising on the effective use of voice to support global advocacy goals. At The Elders and Girls Not Brides, she supported prominent global figures and Nobel Peace Prize winners including Kofi Annan, Ela Bhatt, President Jimmy Carter, Graça Machel, Mary Robinson, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
